Martsang Kagyu Mahamudra Preliminaries Retreat

The Martsang Kagyu Preliminaries include taking Refuge, meditation on Vajrasattva, offering the Mandala and Guru yoga which also incorporates the Outer, instructions on Inner, and instructions Secret and emptiness. It is difficult and rare to have the opportunity to hear these precious teachings.

The ocean of Mahamudra pith instructions of Martsang is the highest of all practices and the collection of the innermost essence of the profound teachings, which help us to achieve the highest performance.

His Holiness Gangri Karma Rinpoche who is an exceptional Buddhist scholar and Dharma practitioner, will deliver this retreat in his unique style that allows students to develop a much richer understanding of these precious teachings according to the Martsang Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. The retreat entry requirement is for senior students who successfully completed the Martsang Lam Rim, the Martsang Lam Rim Dechen Nyru and the Martsang Mahamudra Preliminaries 

This 7-day retreat will allow students to cultivate a deep actual experience of these practices and meditations.

The Martsang Dechen Nyru translates as ‘essential teachings on the swift path to great bliss’. Lama Chopa is a practice of guru devotion special to the Martsang Kagyu tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. In Sanskrit, lama is guru, and chopa is offering, so Lama Chopa translates into English as “offering to the spiritual guide.”

This special Lama Chopa practice dedicated to Choje Marpa Sherab Yeshe (1134-1203) the founder of the Martsang Kagyu School, was originally compiled by Drogon Richen and has subsequently been reedited by His Holiness Gangri Karma Rinpoche.
